From a dead account to real foot traffic: Villa Grande's 90-day turnaround
Villa Grande has been serving North Texas dishes from the heart of Mexico — and traditional Tex-Mex favorites — for over 11 years. Great food, loyal regulars, and a beloved local name. But online? Their Instagram had gone quiet.
The challenge
When we started, the account was effectively a “dead” profile:
- No consistent activity — posts went up rarely, with no plan behind them.
- Virtually no local engagement — the content wasn’t reaching nearby diners.
- No foot traffic from social media — the page wasn’t translating into visits or sales.
For a restaurant whose customers are right down the road, that’s a lot of opportunity sitting unused.
What we did
We treated the account like the storefront it is — and built a system around reaching the local audience that actually eats there.
- Profile optimization — a clear, appetizing bio, highlights, and link setup so a first-time visitor instantly knows what Villa Grande is and where to go.
- A customized content strategy — a plan built around their menu, seasonal specials, and the North Texas community.
- Quality content — crave-worthy food and drink content, posted consistently.
- Outbound engagement — proactively reaching and connecting with local accounts, not just waiting to be found.
We also leaned into seasonal promotions — like a new seasonal martini special — and built content to drive people in to try it.
The results (90 days)
The account went from flat-lined to consistently active and reaching the right people.
Instagram reach climbed to 453 — a +1,700% increase — going from near-zero to regular spikes as content landed.
Post reach hit 2.1K in the last 90 days — up from almost nothing the 90 days prior.
Profile visits and website link taps climbed too — +87% Instagram profile visits and +725% external link taps.
And — most importantly for a restaurant — it showed up in the dining room:
“So much foot traffic with the social media special, everyone is loving the new seasonal martini! Thank you!”
Why it worked
A restaurant doesn’t need to go viral. It needs to reach the people nearby who are deciding where to eat tonight. By optimizing the profile, posting with intention, and proactively engaging the local community, we turned a dormant account into a steady source of attention — and real customers.
